Every Artisan home is built to a level of quality that isn't apparent when you first walk through and see the beautiful trim, hardwood floors and built-in cabinets.  In fact many of the details that we put extra time and attention to will never be seen by our clients.  Why would we do this?  Because we want our homes to be more comfortable, last longer, require less maintenance and use less energy than the "standard" new home.

Building a home today requires an on-going commitment to keep on top of the many new materials, building codes and best practices that are out there.  This is commonly referred to as Building Science, and it changes at an amazing rate as new products and techniques are created to improve the livability and durability of today's homes. 

At Artisan Home Builders, we're focused on providing our clients with the best home possible for their investment - leveraging these new advances in building science when they prove themselves to be a true benefit.  Two specific areas that we concentrate on are energy efficiency and green building:

Energy Star Program.
The federal and state Energy Star® programs are designed to help builders create homes that are substantially more energy efficient than most homes built today.  Through detailed requirements for insulation, air infiltration, indoor air quality and other building techniques, qualified homes must pass rigorous testing to ensure that they meet the program guidelines.  The result?  Homes that are both cost effective to operate and comfortable to live in - saving you up to 30% or more on your heating & cooling costs. 
All Artisan homes are built to the Energy Star standards as a baseline, not as an option.

Building a comfortable, healthy home for our clients has always been one of our top concerns.  That's why we've always built "green" - even before it was trendy to do so.  The concept of "green" building includes a wide variety of techniques used to ensure that a home is built with respect for its owners, as well as its environment.  This includes ...

•   Home Position ... proper design to take advantage of natural views and the path of the sun.

•   Energy Efficiency ... to provide comfort and reduce our use of natural resources.

•   Waste Disposal ... how waste materials from construction are disposed of and recycled.

•   Natural Materials ... that are environmentally sensitive in manufacture and eventual disposal.

•   Air Quality ... use of low or non-toxic finishes that provide a healthier environment.

•   Systems Installation ... proper sizing & installation of efficient mechanical systems.
